My day on the PAHM: 13 October 2026
One moment from this morning's session with Ayu, in my own words. Where it sat on the map is at the end.
There is a change coming at work, a good one, a couple of months away. Yesterday the thoughts about it followed me home, and this morning there was some planning about it again. It comes and goes.
What I do is remind myself of the reality. This is a good move. These are thoughts about something that is not present, even if it is going to happen, probably a couple of months ahead. I look at it from different angles until it settles.
It still comes back, but not the way it used to. So it is working, and it has a gradual fading effect. You have to keep on saying it.
It is similar to the example I take. When my father passed away twelve years ago I was so sad, crying, hurt. Now I do not cry. It is not hurting me. It is just a fact. So it is a matter of adapting as soon as you can.
Where it sat

Future + Neutral (planning) when it is about the change itself, which is a good thing that has not arrived yet. The pull is in the visiting: a thought about later, at home and again in the morning, is attention away from where the evening actually is. The reminder brings it back. The fading is the same one that turned a loss into a fact: Past + Dislikes (regret) becoming Past + Neutral (memory). Twelve years for one, a few weeks for the other, the same movement.
One thing to try
What this does not do
This post uses the Present Attention and Happiness Matrix, the author's own model from The Return of Attention. It describes experience, not a diagnosis. How the matrix works.
This is one person's morning, not advice. The map says where the thought sat; it does not say what anyone else should do about theirs.

Future + Neutral and the fading of a position visited less often are in chapter 17; the chain that runs without a trigger is in chapter 18; a loss becoming a fact is the identity account in chapter 25.
